Yesterday was a day that started out really bad, and turned out to be a great day. I woke up late and headed out. When i was about 8 kilometers out of town i went to make my first stand and realized my calls are still in the house. so off i go back home and very unhappy. After getting my calls i headed back out and before i even got out of town i noticed a coyote on the side of the highway, not paying attention to anyone. estevan has had problems lately of unafraid coyotes and this was a great example of it. i stoppped the vehicle and got out while the coyote was just on the other side of the road from, less than 20 feet! he truly could have cared less, i got back into my vehicle and pulled out the camera and started taking pictures while this coyote just went about its business. The whole time i was taking pictures i was walking alongside this coyote, always within 30 feet of him and he was never nervous. once he left the area i got to hunting,

1st stand brought in two coyotes but i only got a shot at one and got him 2nd stand brought in 3, two came in close and i got them 3rd stand was empty 4th stand one male came in to 100 yards and i shot him. After that i decided that it was a great day and went home and watched football

Looks like a great day for you Chester, good job. And those look like some beautiful colors and full thick furs. Wish I could get to Canada and get a few of those.

Wow you did have a good day. I wish I could have a day like that. Here in Arkansas I'm lucky to call one in per what seems like about twenty stands. Any coyote that lingers in gun range gets whacked outside of the city limits. I have a feeling most of the western hunters would take up a different sport. Maybe after a few more years I'll figure it out.

Hey Chester,
Seem like a couple of fellows could grab a video camera and take some really nice video's there. That would be real hoot. Then you could start marketing gamecalls and be on television and be a big star.

Hey Chester,
Your doing well. That coyote must have been on the East side of the city, north side of the highway from the pictures I can see. HEHE.
That means you were out my way again, Good job on the coyotes we went north and got 8 in the wind on wednesday and thursday. That 50-90 km/hour wind really sucked. I dont think we had a stand less than 35 km/hour wind.
Call preacher for details on the great cabin hunt 2008 edition. If the winds would have been down I'm sure we would have had 20 coyotes. in 2 days.
I will be out Saturday after about 10:30 am if you are interested. Meet at mine or your traps, I have some excellent territory 10 miles from there. winds should be down by then.
DC
some pics from the hunt.

Wish I had area like that to hunt. All I have is heavy sage brush that is called way to often by way to many poor shots. Granted the rabbits are real thick this year so it seems as if by the time I get out there they are already full. Nice liking hides though.

they are harris bipods. Before the swivel versions came out we made these up. They work great at leveling the gun.
