I'm sure that you're right, but I follow the debate on Global Warming pretty closely, and it's evident that the scientific consensus is tipping heavily in favor of the idea, particularly in the last couple of years. When the Department of Defense issues papers like that it's pretty evident that the idea has reached farther than the lunatic Greenie fringe, and perhaps we would all do well to pay attention a little.

Hell, the President himself specifically mentioned it in his State of the Union address a couple of nights ago, and that after years of poo-pooing the idea, if that tells you anything.

The really bad news is that if it is in fact an accellerating phenomenon caused by industrialized man it may be too late to do anything about it, which means that we've managed to screw ourselves quite nicely; I don't know about you, but that causes me to feel a little like the poisoner who inadvertently drinks from the wrong glass.

I suppose that, like so many other things, we'll find out sooner or later, one way or the other; in the meantime I'm watching the models to see if perhaps there's a place to get the hell out of the way.
