Victor and I are pleased and proud to announce that our video production has finally been edited, mastered, and dubbed, and can be obtained by simply clicking here e-mail us with your mailing address, and we'll trade you two $20.00 bills, or a Postal Money Order ($39.95, plus $00.05 shipping and handling) for a video, which we will ship to you U.S. Priority Mail.
As usual, we will accept trades in firearms, knives, good likker, etc.
The video, by the way, is just short of 120 minutes, contains lots and lots of information, and boasts a whole bunch of coyotes doing various coyote things. Most of the calling scenes are on the order of a "Dick and Jane" book, which you may remember from kinnygarten.
The typical scene (my Directorial skills are not quite on par with Stephen Spielberg yet) goes sort of like this:
Run, coyote, run!
See Vic see the coyote.
See Vic shoot the coyote.
Good shot, Vic!"
I'm bitterly resentful that Victor gets all of the glory parts, and as a result is gathering accolades such as "The finest rifle shot in Arizona" and stuff like that, when the real truth is that the camera had too many moving parts for him to operate, so we HAD to make him the shooter, but what the hell; I have a few speaking parts, even if I don't get to display my marksmanship abilities. (Although that IS me below, in the center)
Be that as it may, though, this video has something for everyone; a fist-full of live stands for the guys that already know everything that there is to know about calling, and the best instruction that I could put together for the beginning caller regarding stand set-up, calls, firearms, coyote behavior, body language, decoys, dogs, and philosophy.
I'm pretty happy with what we were able to achieve, and I think that ya'll will be, too.
Hey, Woofman: Be glad that Vic is a lot nicer than I am; or you wouldn't have
enough behind left to sit on the toilet. I'd reserve this space just for a
review of your work, and write exactly the sort of thing that you (and your
production) deserve, which up until now everyone else has been too polite to
do, instead of posting a picture of a dog and a fella (and a .17 Rem-killed
coyote) that I find NO fault with (well, the fella and the rifle, anyhow). And
you know what? I bet he doesn't kick one bit about me using this photo.

Below are some (unedited) reviews that we have received so far. As always, the names have been deleted to protect the innocent.
"Got your tape on Monday and have only had time to watch it clear thru 5 times, REALLY enjoyed it!!! Damn now you got me trying to figure out how to convince myself I really need another gun. I've got a friend in Gunnison, CO, and if I can figure out a time to get out to see him I'll have to save some time to come down and kill a few 'yotes with you. I am going to try calling them around here but really have few here yet! Hope you decide to make another video, keep updating the web-site so we Easterners can enjoy too!!!"
"John-Henry & Vic,
Fellas, you've created a dandy video, truly home-grown, like your coyote rifles, John-Henry, and your dog, and for that matter, the two of you yourselves.
It's infused with your personalities, skills, and experiences--exactly what we all should expect from devoted hunters who publish books or tapes about the sport. Absolutely refreshing!
Thanks, guys."
"Hi John-Henry
Got a chance to watch the video. Took it into work couple other guys watched it. Thought you said it was 2 hours long. Well we watched it twice took 4 hours. Very good we usually take a nap sunday afternoon at work didn't get one yesterday. Jr. is a deer hunter only it got him interested in coyote hunting. You got the thumbs up all the way around.
Just one question when using Mickey for a decoy you said you rope her out by the caller. We couldn't figure out in what vicinity you place her.
You an Vic done a fantastic Job."
John-Henry,
Greetings partner !
I received the video last Friday and have watched it three times since then. I was expecting a lot and I received much more than I expected. This is the most intelligent calling video I have ever seen. Great editing ! Super photography !
Here are the things I like about it the most;
1. Cohesiveness, This thing really hangs together. You address topics, explain them very carefully and intelligently, and then illustrate your point with the calling and killing scenes. This tape has got to become a classic for new callers.
2. Transitions, This topic has always been a pet peeve of mine. So many of the calling and predator hunting videos just go blithely from one subject to another without any warning or explanation. Your segments are clean and can stand alone. There is a method to your madness in editing and it makes the video very easy to watch.
3. Reality, (No BS) The calling and kill segments are very easily discerned to be genuine and complete. Some I've seen apparently "kill" the same couple of animals several times in one video.
4. Complete. This thing is two solid hours of very valuable and instructive footage. I particularly liked the segment where you graphically explain how to set up an electronic call stand in relation to too features and the wind. This is a brilliant segment. People are going to retain that in their memory and it will help them as long as they play this game.
5. Vic's shooting, Just outstanding footage of some great riflery. Vic is the best practical rifle shot I've seen in my life. Hitting running coyotes with that degree of regularity is just not natural.
6. Music, Should win an academy award for best music in a calling video. I can't even BEGIN to conjure up a more appropriate tune to open a predator calling video with. Excellent, grabs your attention and makes you smile right from the beginning.
Take a bow John-Henry, You have produced a Jewel ! This is bound to become a cult classic.
John-Henry,
Sorry for not letting you know my thought sooner, things have been just a little up here. I watched the video the night it came in, and I gotta say, it was outstanding. It's got much more "real" content than any other calling show I've seen. The shots of coyotes calling back and forth with your dog ought to blow most folks away (I'd already seen it, and I still thought it was bitchen).
I'll let you know more later (I'm late for a meeting right now), but overall, I'd say it was worth twice what I paid. I also bought a copy for a buddy of mine, I'll check with him to see what he thought and let you know.
Let me know if you're free for some calling sometime and I'll head your way.
Thanks again for the video.
